Humanity has conquered the stars, but the galaxy remains divided between powerful nations, noble houses, corporations, and military alliances. At the center of their power are the Titans—colossal biomechanical beings of unknown origin. Part machine, part living organism, and seemingly possessing minds of their own, Titans are the most powerful weapons humanity has ever discovered. Yet a Titan cannot simply be controlled. Only those chosen by a Titan can form the bond necessary to command one. These individuals are known as BEARERS. To train the next generation of pilots, the galaxy's greatest powers send their cadets to the Titanbearer Academy, a massive fortress-like institution where students learn combat, strategy, Titan synchronization, and the responsibilities that come with wielding such power. Among the cadets is Helvetios, a young student with no legendary family name or great reputation. He arrives at the Academy expecting to earn his place like everyone else. Meanwhile, Helvetios finds himself surrounded by fellow cadets with ambitions and secrets of their own. Kael Veyron, the proud heir of a legendary Bearer bloodline. Lyra Solenne, a brilliant scholarship student, who possesses an unusual understanding of Titan technology. Marcus Vale, a reckless and charismatic troublemaker, and one of Helvetios's closest friend. Elara Draven, a woman determined to escape the shadow of her powerful military family. And Soren Ash, a mysterious loner with a strange Titan of his own. While friendships and rivalries grow within the Academy, tensions between the galaxy's powers escalate into open conflict. What begins as training exercises soon becomes real combat, forcing Helvetios and his fellow cadets to confront the reality of war. But the greatest threat may not be another nation. Titans across the galaxy are beginning to awaken. Ancient systems are activating, and fragments of forgotten history suggest that the Titans were never created simply to protect humanity. They were created for a much older purpose. Now Helvetios must survive a galaxy moving toward war, and decide what kind of Bearer he will become. Because becoming a Titanbearer was never supposed to be about controlling a Titan. It was about discovering why the Titan chose you.
