A former military operative, Gene Montgomery, lives a life defined by meticulous security and a past he can't outrun, until a mysterious attorney breaches his impenetrable apartment. She brings news of a dead man, Anthony Davis, a crime lord Gene has never met, who has named him primary heir to a vast, dangerous empire. Suddenly, Gene is thrust into a world of power struggles and hidden enemies, inheriting not just a fortune, but a war already in motion. With rival factions circling like sharks and the truth about his own past inextricably linked to Davis's legacy, Gene must decide whether to walk away and let the city burn, or claim a throne he never knew existed, knowing it comes with a target on his back.
