Exiled Commander Rhea Calder is handed a death sentence: captain a derelict ship, the Wayward Star, with a crew of disgraced outcasts and ghosts from her past. Their mission? To venture into the Rift, a region of space where ships vanish and legends whisper of impossible horrors. The Vanguard expects them to die, but Rhea has no choice but to accept, hoping to find a purpose beyond her shattered career. As they plunge into the unknown, the Rift reveals itself not as empty void, but as something vast, alive, and ancient, watching their every move. When an unseen force seizes their ship, tearing at its hull and systems, Rhea and her desperate crew face a terrifying truth: they haven't just entered uncharted territory, they've stumbled into a cosmic trap. Can this band of rejects survive a force that defies all known science, or will the Rift claim them as its next victims?
