Forty-three and still working the same corner, Delilah O'Rourke, known as Dee, is the last queen of Fifth and Alameda, a street that's forgotten her reign. Every night is a battle for survival, her dignity her only currency in a world that wants to repossess it all. She clings to her routine, her worn-out heels, and the ghost of Ruby Romance lipstick, even as younger girls steal her prospects and the city lights sweep past her like she's invisible. But tonight, a slowing Mercedes offers a flicker of hope, only to be extinguished by the sudden glare of a patrol car. Now, with her last chance gone and the law closing in, Dee faces a choice: fade into the night, or fight for a future she can barely imagine. Can a woman who's seen it all find a new beginning when the street she calls home is trying to erase her?
