A dying man's last breath brands a street thief with an ancient, burning mark. Wren Ashby, a cutpurse who knows the harsh rules of survival, finds herself entangled in a destiny far grander and more terrifying than any score she's ever pulled. The mysterious coin she pilfered now pulses with a power she can't comprehend, drawing her into a hidden world where forgotten magic stirs and dark entities hunt. As a monstrous figure emerges from the rain-slicked streets, calling her "Keeper," Wren realizes her life of petty crime is over. But in a realm where ancient forces awaken, can a thief truly guard what she doesn't understand, or will she become prey to the very power she now carries?
