Main protagonist: Rio Kael Rio Kael died young from cancer in another world. His life was short, but not empty: he knew friendship, family, games, laughter, fear, and love. Because of that, reincarnation doesn't make him bitter. His attitude toward his second life is simple: “I already died once. I'm not wasting this one.” Rio is adventurous, curious, compassionate, occasionally reckless, and surprisingly relaxed about danger because the monsters he grew up around have completely distorted his idea of what counts as dangerous. At sixteen, he has long dark hair, dark-gray eyes, a lean athletic build, and usually wears practical dark clothing rather than flashy armor. He doesn't initially want to become the world's greatest hero. He wants to see the world. Unfortunately, the world has other plans. I. Rio doesn't simply unlock abilities by gaining experience. His abilities respond to necessity. Extreme physical threat may awaken a defensive skill. An enemy too fast to perceive could trigger a temporal ability. An attack his body cannot survive might trigger regeneration or adaptation. The System essentially asks: “What does my Administrator require to survive this?” And begins constructing an answer. That prevents us from giving Rio everything immediately. Rio's first 22 abilities 1. Administrator — The foundation of everything. Allows Rio to analyze, modify, combine, evolve and eventually create abilities. Its true purpose is unknown. 2. Sovereign of Shadows — Manipulation, solidification, travel and eventual domination of shadows. 3. Gravity Dominion — Complete authority over gravitational forces within Rio's effective range. 4. Absolute Halt — Forces movement toward zero. Eventually works on matter, energy and magical phenomena. 5. Chronos Authority — Governs temporal perception before evolving into acceleration, slowing, stopping and eventually reversing localized time. 6. Void Step — Removes the distance between two points, creating something beyond ordinary teleportation. 7. Predator's Adaptation — Rio's body and magic learn from threats that injure him. 8. World Eye — Reveals mana, weaknesses, magical structures, hidden entities and eventually portions of the underlying laws governing reality. 9. Perfect Recall — Rio can permanently recall anything he has genuinely perceived. 10. Abyssal Devourer — Absorbs hostile magical energy and converts portions of it into usable power. 11. Soul Bastion — Protects Rio from possession, curses, mental domination and attacks against the soul. 12. King's Domain — Establishes an area where Rio's abilities gain increased authority. 13. Infinite Arsenal — Stores weapons, items and eventually magical attacks inside a separate space. 14. Zero Presence — Suppresses Rio's mana, killing intent, sound and magical signature. 15. Celestial Restoration — Extreme healing. Higher stages can restore damaged organs and potentially repair spiritual injuries. 16. Lawbreaker — Allows Rio to resist magical rules imposed upon him: barriers, restrictions, sealing magic and eventually certain world laws. 17. Mirror Genesis — Understands an observed magical technique and creates Rio's own version rather than merely copying it. 18. Absolute Calculation — Gives Rio extraordinary combat processing, trajectory calculation and simultaneous thought streams. 19. Rift Authority — Controls dimensional fractures and prevents or manipulates portals. 20. Existence Anchor — Prevents forced teleportation, banishment, temporal displacement and eventually attacks intended to erase Rio from existence. 21. Evolution — Allows compatible skills to merge and develop entirely new functions. 22. ??? The final skill is different. Even Rio's System refuses to display its name.
