Deep beneath Gramercy Park, a clandestine society of the ultra-rich convenes, not for charity, but to orchestrate perfect crimes. They are The Board, and their latest target is an investigative journalist whose exposé threatens their empire. As they meticulously plan a staged hit-and-run, Detective Maya Lin, haunted by a series of high-profile "accidents," uncovers a microscopic trace that links seemingly unrelated deaths. She senses a pattern, a chilling signature left by an unseen hand, even as her own movements are being watched. In a city where power buys silence and truth is a liability, Maya is closing in on a secret society that believes itself above the law. But how do you fight an enemy that doesn't officially exist, and what happens when you become their next item on the agenda?
