Elena Reyes was never supposed to inherit Reyes Global. At 27 she was the overlooked daughter, brilliant and beautiful, kept at arm’s length from the family empire by a father who wanted to protect her from its shadows. When he is assassinated in their Manhattan penthouse, Elena walks in at the exact wrong moment and locks eyes with the masked mercenary who pulls the trigger. She is named CEO according to her father’s will and weeks later, drowning in grief and boardroom pressure, she seeks one night of oblivion in a high end nightclub. She finds it in the arms of a dangerously charming stranger named Rex Calder. Their night together is explosive and reckless. Until armed men breach his apartment and abduct them both. They wake in an underground facility controlled by Victor Gonzalez, Elena’s uncle and the mastermind behind the murder. Victor reveals the truth. Rex was hired through an anonymous encrypted contract to eliminate her father and pave Victor’s path to CEO. Now Victor wants Elena to kill Rex on camera to prove she is too unstable to run the empire her father died protecting. But Victor made one mistake. He locked them in together. When they finally escape, the real war begins. Reyes Global is the financial backbone of one of the most powerful mafia organizations in North America and Europe. To survive Elena must decide whether to dismantle the empire or seize it fully, even if it means becoming the monster. Rex must choose whether to walk away from the only attachment he has ever felt or drag her deeper into the darkness he knows too well. The Disastrous Hookup is a dark, enemies-to-lovers serial about betrayal, power, and the devastating line between hatred and love.
