To free the living, he must command the dead. Ethan had nothing: no family, no future, and in the end, not even his life. Then seven beasts reached across worlds and pulled him into theirs. They gave him a gift and a mission. His gift: Necromancy. His mission: shatter the shackles that bind every beast in Sorian. In Sorian, beasts are bound by ancient magic. They cannot raise a claw against a human, and once tamed, they cannot disobey. Tamers use them for labor, sport, and war, and the beasts have no say in any of it. The beasts sought a savior and found one in the very species that enslaved them. By merging Necromancy with a Tamer’s bond, the Night Death Fox creats the world’s first Undead Tamer. Ethan cannot tame the living. He can only raise the dead, and the first beast he raises is the blind cat that stayed by his side through the worst days of his old life. The gift, however, comes at a cost. Ethan’s body runs on Death Energy, and if it ever runs dry, his memories and emotions will be the next to go. He must win against those that wish to stop him. He must fight those that wish to end his profane power. Most important of all, he must go against the ancient powers that govern the world and break the chains that shackle the beasts.
