A heartwarming, funny, and slightly magical family drama. When fifty-three-year-old Evie Cross takes emergency custody of her four grandchildren, she has thirty-one dollars, a broken radiator, and a county caseworker breathing down her neck. The last thing she needs is a three-thousand-year-old djinn in her kitchen. But when her nine-year-old granddaughter Sadie finds a brass vessel at the local scrap yard—and Evie accidentally releases the arrogant, ancient warlord inside—the children see an opportunity. If the grumpy, seven-foot immortal becomes family, the county can't take him away. And if he marries their stubborn, worn-out Nana... well, that might just fix everything. What follows is a chaotic, hilarious, and deeply moving campaign of matchmaking schemes, burned pancakes, slow dances in the kitchen, and a fight for a family that refuses to be split apart. Because some things are worth wishing for. And some people are worth keeping.
