The Shadow Leaf Guild

Assassination is a delicate art form. Navigating a royal betrothal? That's just a nightmare. Twelve-year-old twins Kaiden and Siena Nissassa have been raised in the shadows. As prodigies of the lethal Shadow-Leaf Guild, they know exactly how to track a target, throw a dagger, and slip away unseen. But their newest mission requires a completely different set of skills. They must infiltrate the Sun Palace disguised as nobles, befriend Prince Leo and Princess Aurelia, and lure them into the forest to their doom. There's just one massive problem: Kaiden and Siena actually like their targets. Leo is a dorky swordplay enthusiast who thinks Kaiden is the coolest person alive, and Aurelia just wants to share pastries and gossip with Siena. Unable to slit the throats of their first real friends, the twins pull off the ultimate trick: faking their own deaths to cancel the contract. But the Guild’s terrifying Grandmaster doesn't tolerate failure. When the elite, merciless Crimson Phantoms are dispatched to the capital to finish the job the twins abandoned, Kaiden and Siena must break every rule in the assassin's code. Now, the twins are officially rogue. With their lethal parents running interference, an army of red-masked killers on their tail, and two pampered royals dragging them down, Kaiden and Siena must survive the wilderness and outsmart the deadliest organization in the kingdom. They were trained to take lives. Now, they're going to have to learn how to save them.
