Noise used to be a doctor for the Calzone crime family. Four years ago, his wife betrayed them, and the Zalexian mafia made him a part of her punishment. He has been drowning in beer and sarcasm ever since, convinced he is finally out of the business. He is wrong. One rainy winter solstice night, a single one-cent coin dropped into a stranger's hand pulls Noise back into a city that never forgives and never forgets. Every episode peels back another layer of the truth: did his wife really betray the family, or was her silence the price someone else should have paid? Dark, sarcastic and relentless, The Penny Debt is a noir crime drama with a pitch-black sense of humor. Told in the first person by a man who has stopped valuing human life, including his own.
