Every night at 3:17 AM, a train arrives at a remote station in the mountains of Japan. It has no driver. No conductor. No passengers. And it doesn't appear on any timetable. Ren Takahashi has spent years working the night shift at Shinano-Kawashima Station. He has never believed in ghosts, legends, or stories about trains that shouldn't exist. Until one night, Train 317 arrives. Inside, Ren finds a black leather bag with his name on it. Then his dead father's phone begins to ring. His father died eighteen years ago. At least, that's what Ren was told. Soon, Ren discovers photographs of himself taken years before he was supposed to be there. Messages sent from his own future. A woman who hasn't aged in twenty-seven years. And a mysterious railway project that was never supposed to exist. The deeper Ren searches, the more terrifying the truth becomes. The train doesn't travel from one station to another. It travels from one time to another. And Ren has already been on it. Six times. Now the train is coming back. At exactly 3:17. And this time, it is waiting for him. THE 3:17 PASSENGER — a dark supernatural mystery about time, memory, family, and the terrifying possibility that the person you are running from... is yourself.
