Sixteen-year-old scavenger Evelyn Claire survives an Antithesis attack and awakens as a Vanguard, gaining access to Nyx, an advanced AI system that lets her earn points and exchange them for futuristic weapons, armor, robots, and technology. As she grows into a Samurai and discovers she can build an army of combat teddy bears, Evelyn must use her unconventional tactics to protect humanity from an escalating alien invasion and prove that even the smallest fighter can change the course of a war.
