The ash of dead gods doesn't want to be moved. For Kaelen, a Cinder-Sweeper in the toxic Lower Ring, it's a slow death sentence, turning his veins to glass and his lungs to lead. He lives beneath the glittering sky-cities of Oros, a paradise built on the very dust he's forced to clear, a constant reminder of the High-Lords' cruel indifference. But when a massive imperial dreadnought crashes, spilling raw, primordial ash, a drop of Kaelen's blood awakens a terrifying, forbidden power. The magic of the murdered earth-gods binds to his very bones, transforming the boy who swept the dust into something ancient and lethal. Now, with the power to decay and command the very essence of the world, Kaelen faces a choice: let the empire consume him, or become the storm that tears down their sky.
