The world ended long ago. Not with fire. Not with war. But with Corruption. Every night, darkness spreads across the Earth, devouring everything in its path. Animals become monsters. Humans become monsters. Entire cities vanish beneath an endless sea of black. For centuries, humanity has endured by living on floating islands high above the corrupted lands below. To most people, these islands are paradise. To Ronan, they are hope. After losing everything to the Corrupted, the young survivor dreams of becoming a Reaper, a warrior who hunts monsters and protects humanity's last refuges. But the higher he climbs, the more terrifying the truth becomes. The floating islands are not humanity's salvation. They are humanity's final refuge. The Corruption is spreading. The Earth is dying. And hidden within the ruins of the old world lies a secret buried since the ancient Human–Alien War. A secret powerful enough to explain why the aliens abandoned Earth. A secret powerful enough to save it. As Ronan grows stronger, his journey will take him from ruined villages and monster-infested wastelands to floating cities, alien battlefields, and the endless darkness between the stars. Because somewhere beyond Earth. The answer awaits. Someone has to go to find it.
