Kiku Imai's morning routine of dodging tardiness takes a sharp turn when she encounters an eight-foot-tall Oni in an alley, forcing her to trade her school pen for a legendary katana. This isn't just a bad day; it's the secret life of a high school student who hunts supernatural creatures in modern Japan. But when a mysterious new transfer student, Ren Okomato, arrives with golden eyes and an unnerving awareness of Kiku's hidden world and her Moon-Cutting Blade, her carefully constructed double life begins to unravel. He knows her secret, and perhaps, a secret of his own. In a world where ancient demons lurk in plain sight and a new threat watches from the shadows, can Kiku protect her city and her identity, or is this enigmatic newcomer a danger she can't fight with a sword?
