For five years, Elowen has been the Academy's gray-robed outcast, an Unkindled failure in a world defined by elemental power. While others wield fire, water, earth, and air, she scrubs floors, haunted by the Sacred Font that denied her a spark. But when the most powerful students showcase their gifts, a bitter Elowen dares to touch the forbidden waters once more, expecting only familiar emptiness. Instead, an impossible explosion of light erupts, weaving all five elements into a tapestry of power unseen in three centuries. A mysterious voice whispers of a long wait, shattering everything Elowen thought she knew about herself and the Academy. Is she truly Unkindled, or has her true power merely been dormant, waiting for the perfect storm to awaken a destiny that could reshape their entire world?
