The Silence Elias Left

Detective Sarah Vance is known for two things in the sprawling, rain-slicked city of Valerion. One is her unshakable faith and the other, her relentless pursuit of the truth. When renowned investigative journalist Elias Thorne vanishes from his apartment, leaving behind only a half-eaten meal and a shattered voice recorder, Sarah is assigned the case. Thorne was the city’s moral compass, the man who exposed corruption, but as Sarah decodes his encrypted notes and retraces his final steps, she uncovers a terrifying contradiction. The evidence suggests Thorne wasn’t just observing the city’s darkest criminal syndicate, he may have been working with them. Torn between protecting the reputation of a man she respected and exposing a rot that reaches the highest levels of government, Sarah is forced to navigate a maze of lies. With a target on her back and her own department compromised, she learns that the truth is a double-edged sword, and in a city of shadows, can one light stay burning?
