A thousand years of legend ignites when a forgotten black and gold egg pulses to life, choosing Zaire Bellson, a boy whose only ambition was to earn enough to feed his family. Now, with an ancient dragon stirring within his soul, Zaire is thrust into the Dragon Lord Academy, a world of power, politics, and perilous expectations. His bond with the mythical Black Dragon, a creature of unparalleled might, shatters the fragile peace between three kingdoms, each vying for control of its immense power. As kings and princes see him as a weapon, a pawn in their dangerous games, Zaire must navigate a treacherous path where his classmates become pawns and his dragon's memories hint at a terrible past. Can a boy who only wanted to save his family become the leader his world desperately needs, or will he be consumed by the very power he now wields?
