We open with Alistair Thorne (Vanguard) testing his new Mark VII Liquid-Light suit over the Aethelgard skyline. Suddenly, a dimensional tremor (an Aether Spike) hits the city. On the ground, high school student Aris Thorne is on a field trip to Thorne Industries when the lab is breached by an unknown entity.
