In a world of Eternal Night, a lone scavenger named Kael walks the Glass-Desert — a vast wasteland of razor-sharp crystalline sand that glows cold silver beneath a massive cracked moon bleeding light across a broken sky. Towering in the distance is the Clockwork City — a fortress of black iron, mechanical clock towers, grinding gears, and harsh white artificial suns that burn without warmth. The city is ruled by the Hidden Ledger. They own the light. Miss your payment and their enforcers come — the Red Chain, soldiers with mechanical Clockwork Hearts ticking behind their ribs, red chains hanging from their belts, grey coats disappearing into the eternal dark. They feel nothing. They collect everything. Kael is nobody. A scavenger surviving on the desert’s edge, carrying only a fragment of a melody his mother hummed before the Red Chain took her. When a dying courier presses a warm glowing coin into his hand — one that speaks in his dead mother’s voice — Kael discovers the city’s white light runs on harvested human souls. And the real sun, golden and ancient, is locked inside the Silent Cathedral behind a black Obsidian Door with no handle on the outside. Now he runs through the eternal darkness carrying a Soul-Bloom — a single legendary flower glowing with warm pulsing gold light, the only thing in the world that can resurrect the dead. Beside him is Elara, a nine year old girl whose hands write living magic into glass and sand, who draws pictures of a golden sun she has never seen. Behind them, red chains rattle in the dark. Ahead, rebels with glowing Star-Ink tattoos burning on their skin wait in a whispering bone forest beneath the bleeding moon. The Ledger owns the dark. Kael is about to make them pay for it. Dark. Relentless. Unforgettable. This is Debt of the Dark.
