Clash of Beast Masters

Epic fantasy • Young adult • Adventure • War • Magical beasts • Friendship • Survival In a world where technology and ancient magic coexist, humanity's greatest weapons are not machines, armies, or even the powerful rulers of the three kingdoms. They are the extraordinary creatures known as Beasts, and the rare individuals capable of forming unbreakable bonds with them. These individuals are called Beast Masters. For generations, Beast Masters have shaped the balance of power between kingdoms. They serve as military commanders, guardians, explorers, and celebrated competitors in spectacular tournaments watched by millions. Their beasts range from ordinary-looking younglings to colossal creatures capable of devastating entire battlefields. Fire lions can reduce fortifications to ash. Giant gorillas possess enough strength to fracture the earth with a single blow. Dragons command the elements, while mysterious creatures with abilities not yet understood remain the subject of legends. A Beast Master's strength begins with their aura, the mysterious energy that determines their compatibility with magical creatures. The stronger the aura, the greater the potential of the beast that answers its call. But strength alone does not guarantee greatness. And sometimes, the most extraordinary power arrives in the most unexpected form. At seventeen, Cas is preparing for the moment that will determine her future: the annual Beast Summoning Ceremony. With short, straight blond hair, sharp gray eyes, and a practical attitude toward life, Cas hardly resembles the elegant champions celebrated on television. She prefers a black tank top, denim jeans, heavy work boots, and a black hip pack to the extravagant fashions favored by the kingdom's elite. Alongside hundreds of other students, she enters a magnificent stadium filled with spectators from all three kingdoms. Millions more watch the ceremony live, eager to witness the newest generation of Beast Masters summon their lifelong companions. Every student wears a technological marvel known as a Beast Bracelet, secured around the left wrist. The bracelet serves as identification, a communication device, and a sanctuary in which a bonded beast can reside. Most students summon young creatures that will grow alongside them. Rarely, a fully mature beast answers a summoner's aura, an occurrence so extraordinary that it can transform a student's reputation overnight. Cas has spent years preparing for this moment. Yet nothing could prepare her for the companions who will ultimately change her destiny. Nothing could prepare her for newly revived black magic that will take over the land of Endra.
