Bobby McGowan has lost his wife and his job. Now he's left with nothing but a dilapidated cabin on a remote mountain in Southwest Virginia, his family's only remaining wealth. However, upon arrival, he meets a beautiful squatter named Dru Youngblood who mysteriously survives in the forest after he kicks her out of his cabin. Dru is not rattled by his coldness toward her and continues to show up daily, annoying him with her kindness and weird antics. When Bobby learns that a large corporation has its eye on the land, he receives an offer that could set him up for life, financially speaking. The only problem is Dru. She refuses to leave the property. What happens when Bobby begins to realize that Dru may not even be human and that he might be in love with her?
