the Handler Program

The Handler Program is a modern military dark-fantasy thriller about Specialist Logan Mercer, a cavalry scout pulled into a secret government operation hidden deep in the jungle. The Program doesn’t train soldiers to ride dragons like legends—it trains them to handle them like high-risk assets: discipline, restraint, and control are the difference between partnership and death. When Logan is chosen as the “second option” after his twin brother Cole dies under classified circumstances, he inherits a dragon hatchling that hatches ahead of schedule and shows abilities the Program did not plan for—calming pulses, perfect mapping in darkness, and voice playback that can expose lies. As Logan bonds with Echo under tightening security, he’s pulled into a silent war inside the facility: tags, sabotage, and a shadow organization called BLACKTIDE hunting to steal dragons and weaponize them. The deeper Logan goes, the clearer it becomes the Program isn’t just training handlers—it’s building guardians for a conflict no one is allowed to admit is coming, and the truth about Cole’s death is tied to the enemy leading the hunt.
