Some secrets don’t stay buried. They wait. Detective Simone “Sunny” Carter built her life on control, on facts, patterns, and reading people before they have the chance to lie. But when a missing person case begins to unravel into something darker, the lines between instinct and truth start to blur. Paired with Ethan Carter steady, observant, and far more complex than he lets on Sunny is pulled into an investigation that feels too familiar… and too close. What begins as routine questioning turns into a web of half-remembered nights, shifting timelines, and people who aren’t saying everything they know. Because someone is lying. And someone is watching. As the case tightens, so does the tension between them—unspoken, undeniable, and dangerous in its own way. The deeper they dig, the clearer it becomes: Not everyone is who they claim to be. And some truths were never meant to surface.
