On the day young Kalistor hopes to prove himself at the village trials, a desperate cry from beyond the forbidden boundary stones pulls him into the ancient, shadowed forest. There, a trapped wolf cub bears a mark identical to the one hidden in his father's locked chest, hinting at a secret lineage and a world far more dangerous than the one he knows. As the trials begin without him, Kalistor must choose between the life he's always known and the chilling truth that now binds him to a creature of the wild. What forgotten oath connects his family to the untamed wilderness, and what dark forces stir just beyond the village's fragile peace?
