Rafe Montenegro has never been afraid of temptation. At thirty-two, the six-foot-six Brazilian-Mexican heir to São Paulo's most powerful criminal dynasty has money, influence, intelligence, and enough dangerous secrets to make most people think twice before crossing him; he has been with men and women, but no lover has ever managed to capture his heart, and Rafe has always preferred it that way. Then he meets Gabriel Almeida. Gabriel is a handsome finance professional who wants nothing to do with the criminal world after the brutal deaths of his father and older brother destroyed his family. He has spent years building a respectable life far away from the violence, secrets, and bloodshed that once surrounded his family. One night in an exclusive São Paulo nightclub, Gabriel meets Rafe. Neither man knows who the other really is. What begins as an irresistible attraction becomes a one-night encounter neither expects to matter. But Rafe can't forget him. Gabriel can't stay away. And before long, temptation becomes something neither man can control. Then Gabriel discovers the truth. Rafe Montenegro isn't merely a wealthy businessman. He's the heir to the criminal empire Gabriel has spent his life trying to escape. Worse, Gabriel's finance career leads him to suspicious transactions hidden inside the Montenegro business empire—and the deeper he investigates, the closer he gets to discovering secrets surrounding his father's and brother's deaths. Now Rafe is fighting to inherit an empire while enemies inside and outside his family move against him. Gabriel is searching for the truth about his family's past. And someone is willing to kill to keep that truth buried. Rafe has finally found the one man capable of breaking through his carefully guarded heart. Gabriel has fallen for the one man he was never supposed to love. In a world where loyalty is bought with blood and betrayal can cost a life, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for each other. Because Gabriel is Rafe's greatest temptation. And Rafe is Gabriel's. Some forbidden fruit is worth the risk. Some temptations can get you killed.
