The Watering Hole

The Watering Hole is a supernatural/fantasy drama set in a modern, Neo-futuristic African society—specifically around Tshwane. At its heart is a hidden, mystical bar that serves as a divine meeting place for gods, seers, mutabeings, and powered humans. The story follows Matlaletsatsi ("Matt"), a half-god with solar powers, as he uncovers his destiny. He's guided by Azi, his witty, companion-like system, and accompanied by allies like the fierce mutabeing princess Nokuthula ("Noki") and the powerful, rowdy Bataung triplets. Central to their journey is the Rites of Balance—a demanding spiritual and physical rite of passage with cosmic stakes. Themes of ancestry, love, power, and myth unfold against a backdrop of futuristic African cityscapes, sacred traditions, and hidden realms.
