Black Hollow is a forgotten town built in shadow, a place that exists not to protect its people but to imprison its secrets. Beneath its quiet streets and watchful forests lies an ancient purpose: to suppress monsters by erasing who they truly are. The town’s magic is subtle and relentless, designed to dull memory, instinct, and power. Eryx lives as a quiet archivist, believing herself human, though the moon stirs something violent and familiar within her. She wakes with blood on her hands, heightened senses, and dreams of bone and hunger. Unbeknownst to her, she is an ancient werewolf—one that does not simply change, but endures through cycles of forgetting, bound to the moon and stripped of her identity to keep her contained. Garrick survives on the margins of Black Hollow, treated as a worthless man no one sees. He battles a gnawing hunger and discovers the sun does not harm him. What he does not remember is that he was once a vampire king, his throne destroyed, his name erased, his authority buried beneath shame and obscurity. As Eryx and Garrick begin to sense each other, fragments of their true natures surface. The town’s wards weaken. The council that maintains Black Hollow grows afraid, knowing that if the Wolf and the King remember who they were—and what they were to each other—the prison will fail, and the night will reclaim the world.
