In the perpetually rainy town of Glimmerfall, archivist Maya Vance becomes trapped in a time loop of the same day, haunted by her mother’s recent death. She alone can see a mysterious “System” of magical prompts guiding her to uncover a buried truth. As she follows its clues, she discovers the loop is a curated memory of a child’s drowning a century ago, designed to contain a ravenous entity called the Drenching, which feeds on unresolved grief. Maya learns she is a “Scribe”—the latest in her family line meant to maintain this lie by farming the sorrow of three trapped “Anchors.” Choosing rebellion over compliance, Maya must heal the Anchors, confront the immortal Editor who preserves the system, and find a way to break the cycle. Her journey becomes a battle not just against magic, but against the very nature of memory and forgiveness. To free her town, she must complete the tragic story at the loop’s heart, risking everything to replace a prison of curated pain with the fragile hope of genuine healing. The rain remembers everything—and it’s waiting for an ending.
