Kyle, on his trip for his engagement with Shila, the head of Grover Organization, who made an agreement with Kyle's boss that if he could cure her daughter of her disease, he would allow him to marry his daughter, met Thomas and Mellissa, who is Thomas' granddaughter, on his way and cured Mellissa of her longtime illness. After curing her, he left for his engagement, which was later canceled as Shila's family dismissed the engagement as a mere promise made years ago and ridiculed him. Thomas's condition worsened, and Kyle had to step in to cure him after all the great doctors had tried to heal, but their efforts had been futile. In order to express their gratitude and to also keep him in their family, they allowed him to get married to Mellissa. After Kyle got married to Mellisa, his in-laws did everything they could to make his life difficult.
