In the first dawn of the heavens, twelve thrones were raised from the Astral Flow, and from them the Zodiac Kings ruled in light unbroken. Their constellations burned as crowns above the world, binding the mortal and divine in one celestial breath. But pride kindled rebellion. From among them rose a thirteenth—Ophiuchus, bearer of the Serpent and guardian of the forbidden star. For daring to heal the heavens in ways the Twelve forbade, he was cast into silence beyond the sky, his constellation torn from the firmament. Now, as the constellations fade and the Shadow Verge devours the stars, the serpent-bearer rises once more, not as spirit, but in flesh. He walks among the thrones that damned him, wielding the light they feared most.
