Rello, a 20-year-old Taco Bell worker in Raleigh, escapes his chaotic life by smoking weed in an abandoned shopping center, but everything changes when he witnesses a battle between a fire-wielding man and a terrifying demon. After being burned by the demon, Rello is mysteriously revived and discovers he has awakened as an Elemental, gaining the ability to manipulate smoke and fire. Taken to a secret underground facility, Rello learns he's now part of The Underground Magic Shield (UGMS), an organization that fights supernatural threats. As he trains to control his powers, Rello balances his new life with his chaotic family, and when his ex-girlfriend Maddie reappears, he begins to realize that his two worlds—ordinary and extraordinary—are on a collision course.
