In a world where everyone is born with magical talent, a gift that varies according to the intelligence of the child at a young age, Ray is born into the Greyhound’s home with an intelligence incomparable to any. This extraordinary mind grants him an affinity for far more magical abilities than anyone who has ever lived, as he possesses the rare power to not just use magic, but to instinctively imitate it. Soon enough, he comes to realize that his gift is no true gift at all, but a curse in disguise, one that will bring more harm than good. Wanted by many for purposes both noble and sinister, he becomes a living prize sought by kingdoms, cults, and wandering sorcerers alike. His power stands as the fragile balance that could either tip the world into destruction or save it from the coming plagues threatening to swallow it whole.
