The American Empire's power is absolute, forged in the fires of a divergent history and upheld by the cadets of Space Force Academy. Owa Knight, burdened by her father's disgrace, enters with a secret Imperial mission, while Luna Mendoza, a street-smart survivor, sees a scholarship as just another prison. Carlos Chen, a pacifist physicist, finds himself drafted into the very military he opposes.
