In the concrete jungle of Manhattan, Aria has always been entirely ordinary, an unwanted foster child shuffled through life. But when an interview disaster drives her into Central Park, she accidentally triggers an ancient spatial tear and wakes up in Velor, a breathtaking world ruled by five elemental Fae courts. Detained by Kaelen, the fiercely protective and brooding High Warden of the Storm Court, Aria is labeled a dangerous, impossible anomaly. While Kaelen believes her body is merely saturated with unstable border magic, the truth is far more dangerous. Aria is a font of infinite, pure mana. She is the Last Aetheri, a living myth whose waking power could shatter the global balance of the realm. To protect the realm from a devastating political war and save Aria from a ruthless magical dissection by the capital inquisitors, Kaelen commits high treason, smuggling her out of his own fortress. Plunging into the wild, lawless territories, the cynical commander and the ordinary girl must rely on each other to survive, sparking a slow-burn romance that will rewrite the laws of the universe.
