In a world ruled by elemental power and ancient law, only the Marked are permitted to wield magic. The Dominion enforces this creed with brutal precision, branding the unmarked as expendable. But when Kael—a boy born without a sigil—awakens a forbidden shard buried deep beneath the Ash Pits, he begins a journey that will unravel the very fabric of reality. Marked by silence and forged in suffering, Kael discovers he is Unbound: a rare soul capable of weaving the threads of existence itself. As he trains in secret, he awakens elemental tattoos—fire, water, wind, earth, light, and the feared darkness—each unlocking unfathomable power and summoning ancient Spirit Guardians once thought lost to legend. But power comes at a cost. The Dominion unleashes the Nullborn, assassins trained to sever magical bonds and erase memory itself. As Kael gathers allies, confronts trials of resonance, and uncovers the myth of Vaelion—the last Gateborn—he must decide not only who he is, but what kind of world he will leave behind. With six Guardians at his side and a blade inscribed with seven runes, Kael approaches the Gate: a wound in the world that demands a final choice. To open it is to reshape reality. To seal it is to preserve the lie. Rise of the Unbound is a sweeping fantasy saga of elemental magic, spiritual companions, and mythic legacy—where memory is power, silence is truth, and destiny is not given… but earned.
