Fate Changer

Title: FATE CHANGER Author: Resipisyusi Katunzi Genre: Epic Fantasy / African Mythology Synopsis: In the shadowed valleys of Kilimanjaro, history is written in blood and magic. For twenty years, the Chiefdom has known peace under the protection of Baraka, the legendary Ice General, and the wisdom of Chief Ibwe. But peace is a fragile thing when ambition rots the heart of the kingdom. A Prophecy of Grey. When an ancient Healer whispers of a new prophecy—the birth of twins bearing wings of shadow and light—the spirits tremble. They are the Msingi wa Ulimwengu, the Balance of the World. But to Kito, the Chief’s greedy and ruthless son, they are just an opportunity. Conspiring with the dark Healer, Kito twists the prophecy into a curse, convincing his father that these children are "World Breakers" who must be destroyed to save the kingdom. A Betrayal of Blood. In one night of calculated slaughter, the board is swept clean. Kito orchestrates a brutal ambush to murder Baraka and the Kingdom’s greatest Mage, while simultaneously tricking the Chief into ordering the execution of the "monsters"—unaware that he is signing the death warrant for his best friend’s newborn children. The Survivor and the Ghost. But destiny is not so easily butchered. Zawadi, the General’s wife, proves she is no damsel. Fighting off the royal guards with a mother’s fury, she escapes into the unforgiving wilderness with the twins, hunted by the very kingdom her husband died to protect. And in the depths of the Crimson River, Baraka reveals a secret he has kept for a lifetime. Ice is merely water that has learned to be still. Presumed dead by the world, the General survives, reborn from the river not as a hero, but as a vengeful ghost lurking in the deep. The Crown of Bone. Now, Kito sits on a throne built on patricide and lies, with the Healer’s terrifying son, Zuka, rising as his new enforcer. The Kingdom has fallen into darkness, believing their heroes are gone. Separated by miles and misery, a mother fights for the future, and a father fights for revenge. The prophecy said the twins would change the world—but first, their parents must burn the old one down.
