A disgraced military commander is handed the worst assignment in the galaxy: captaining a decaying, broken-down starship manned by a volatile crew of criminals, exiles, and outcasts that no one else would take. They are sent on a highly classified, deep-space mission with a near-zero chance of survival. However, a dangerous game of deception is at play. The commander refuses to tell his rogue crew the terrifying truth of the horrors they are flying into. Meanwhile, the crew members fiercely hide the dark, dangerous pasts they are desperately running from. As they navigate deadly cosmic zones, battle ruthless space syndicates, and face off against minor villains, this temporary alliance of misfits must either learn to trust each other or perish in the void. Slowly, the dark layers of their mission peel away, revealing a massive conspiracy. The crew will eventually discover that the very authorities who sent them out to die are the true masterminds behind the chaos. What begins as a forced suicide run transforms into a fight for redemption, where this broken crew becomes the only family they have ever known—and their doomed mission becomes something truly worth dying for.
