Blurb Lola Moretti thought she understood her family's world. Growing up as the daughter of a high-ranking mafia consigliere, she learned to keep secrets, stay silent, and never ask questions. But on the night of her eighteenth birthday, her father delivers a truth that shatters everything: she was promised at birth to Dominiko Salvatore, the most feared man in New York's underworld. Dominiko is not just ruthless—he's legendary. As underboss to the aging Don Salvatore, he's spent fifteen years building an empire of blood and loyalty, waiting for the day he'll claim both the throne and the bride his dying father arranged for him decades ago. To Dominiko, Lola is not a person—she's a contract, a merger of power between two families, a debt finally come due. Thrust into a world where obedience means survival and love is the deadliest weakness, Lola discovers an ancient manuscript hidden in Dominiko's estate: The Edicts of Omertà, written by Caterina Salvatore, the only wife of a don who lived to old age. Within its pages are eleven rules that have kept mafia wives alive for generations. Rules like: Never ask about his business. Never show fear to his enemies. Never love him more than you love yourself. But Dominiko doesn't want a wife who follows rules. He wants one who understands the game. As Lola learns to navigate the razor's edge between submission and strategy, she begins to see cracks in Dominiko's armor—the scars he hides, the burdens he carries, the enemies circling closer. When a rival family targets her as Dominiko's greatest vulnerability, Lola must decide: follow the rules that have protected mafia wives for centuries, or break every single one to protect the man she swore she'd never love. In a world where loyalty is blood and betrayal is death, some rules are meant to be broken. Others will break you first.

Mafia’s Dark Vow is a gripping, suspense-filled story that immediately pulls you into its world and refuses to let go. Emmanuel Chinedu delivers a well-structured narrative that keeps the tension high while maintaining a clear sense of direction, making it an engaging and addictive read from start to finish. What stands out most is how clearly the story defines the expectations, codes, and sacrifices required of both mafia men and women. The author doesn’t romanticize the lifestyle blindly; instead, the narrative lays out what it truly takes—loyalty, resilience, discipline, and the constant weight of consequences. This clarity gives the story depth and makes the characters’ choices feel intentional rather than convenient. The pacing is strong, the suspense is consistent, and the storytelling leaves you wanting more without feeling incomplete. Without diving into legal or moral debates, Mafia’s Dark Vow succeeds simply as a compelling, well-written story that knows exactly what it wants to portray and does so effectively. If you enjoy dark romance, power dynamics, and high-stakes storytelling, this is definitely a read worth checking out.

I💜♥️ and dislike this one 😉. Love ❤️ the work of the author, his characters, especially Lola and her family, Dominique and his required obedience, Lola’s supporting case. Dislikes Lola’s father and how he just doing his ideals on her when he could have informed her years ago. They broke her boyfriends heart ♥️ This is really a great book 📕!!!!! Lola made me proud!!!!! Don’t think she’s a pushover!!
