Ten years ago, pregnant and abandoned, Samantha Davis fled her hometown during the first snowfall of December. Now a celebrated pastry chef and devoted mother of lively twins, Seth and Selene, she returns to Winterbridge for the first time—just in time for the town’s enormous Christmas Festival. Samantha only plans to stay long enough to help her ailing grandmother, but everything changes when the twins wander into the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony… and collide with General Ethan Wright, the man they’ve never met yet resemble more than either of them realizes. Ethan has spent a decade believing Samantha vanished without a trace. Seeing her again—older, stronger, and holding two children with familiar eyes—shatters the icy walls he built around his heart. As snow blankets the town, hidden truths, old betrayals, and buried feelings begin to surface. But Winterbridge is not as peaceful as it seems. Someone is determined to destroy Samantha’s homecoming—and expose the very secret she crossed continents to protect. This Christmas, Samantha must confront her past… And Ethan must face the family he never knew he had.

I am enjoying this story however elitism is becoming increasingly boring. Ethan’s parents are toxic and deserve to be alone without the compassion of their children and grandchildren. The world can be so cruel. I want to listen to more but all this degrading is making the story unbearable to listen to.
