Gaurav Shrivastav, a seemingly ordinary 31-year-old boy, lived with his friend Rajeev in the slums of Mangolpuri in Delhi. While both Gaurav and Rajeev were educated in Hindi medium and made ends meet by doing odd jobs, Rajeev was notably more intelligent than Gaurav. Gaurav received no respect, neither from his colleagues, nor from his flatmate Rajeev and certainly never from his girlfriend, Archana. Everyone was disappointed in him. As Gaurav couldn’t live up to the expectations of others, he lost his job, his girlfriend and his flatmate too. He was left all alone, under a mountain of debts. He didn't have the money to pay the rent or to buy groceries. He couldn't return to Kanpur because his parents relied on his income. One day, Gaurav encountered a beggar who tried selling him a toy. Gaurav didn't even have 100 rupees to buy the toy. The beggar gave him the toy for free, saying "Pay me when you have the money." The toy, forcefully thrust upon Gaurav, changed his fate. He found a new home, a new job, and a new girlfriend. Everything changed for good. However in exchange, he had to pay with the lives of his blood relatives. Gaurav achieved immense success professionally, but his happiness and peace were lost personally. He couldn't even distance himself from the toy, no matter how hard he tried. What magic did that toy cast on Gaurav? Was it just a toy, or an illusion?
