In the realm of Valeryn, every child is born with a prophecy written in faint silver ink across their wrist. The words appear during the first sunrise after birth and slowly fade as the person approaches the moment the prophecy is fulfilled. Some prophecies promise greatness. Some warn of tragedy. Some are so vague they shape lives through fear alone. But one prophecy has never appeared before. On the wrist of a child born during a celestial storm are the words: “You will open the door and doom us all.” For years the prophecy is hidden, feared even by the protagonist’s own family. But when mysterious portals begin appearing across the land, releasing creatures from realms thought to exist only in forbidden texts, the words begin to fade faster.
