At its heart, The Velvet Thicket, a lavish brothel, feeds on despair, masking a malevolent, sentient force. Deep beneath its opulent facade, an ancient obsidian altar stirs, fueled by the city's mounting sins, its shadow-tendrils poisoning everything. Traditional faith crumbles, but a prophecy awakens seven innocent souls, among them Father Thomas. After a shared, terrifying nightmare of an iron-bound antique box and a chilling riddle, Thomas is drawn to The Velvet Thicket. There, a young woman, her eyes blacked out and voice echoing his nightmare, delivers a horrifying message: "The blood of the innocent must pay the rent. The antique opens, Father."
