A 2:14 AM call shatters Claire Bennett’s world, announcing her estranged sister, Ava, is dead by apparent suicide. But the official story — Ava found drowned in Blackwater Lake — clashes with Claire’s haunting certainty: Ava harbored a primal fear of deep water. An ignored, desperate voicemail reveals Ava was not suicidal, but dangerously close to unearthing a terrifying secret from "that summer" – a truth so dark it silenced her forever. As hidden footsteps echo on Ava’s final message, Claire realizes her sister was hunted, not hopeless. Now, confronting her own fractured memories and gnawing guilt, Claire must piece together what Ava found before the same sinister forces, long buried and now resurfacing, swallow her too.
