A forgotten name whispers from the depths of the Zambezi, calling to Pamela, a young woman in Harare whose ordinary life shatters when water itself begins to obey her. Silver eyes flash in her reflection, a child's asthma is miraculously healed by her touch, and a mysterious phone call warns her that the mist has found her. Hunted by the ancient, dry-skinned men of the Kendu Tribe who crave her blood, Pamela discovers she is Mosi, a lost daughter of the hidden Memaids of Mosiyatunya, guardians beneath the Smoke that Thunders. Her mother hid her, but now the river demands her return, for she holds the power to heal or destroy. Can Pamela embrace a destiny she never knew, or will the thirst that never ends claim her before she can answer the river's call?
