Fourteen-year-old Karen Rodriguez just wanted water. One accidental sip from a restricted chemistry lab storage closet later, he's carrying 847 billion military nanobots in his blood, an AI named Echo in his head, and a target on his back that every intelligence agency and criminal organization on the planet is racing to claim. The CIA wants to recruit him. An international syndicate called the Collective wants to use him as a key to unlock technology that could reshape global power. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, a dying scientist who created the nanobots is driving through the night to find him. Karen doesn't have training. He doesn't have a plan. What he has is Echo, a hacked robot named Aegis, an android who chose friendship over her mission, and a mother who fought off five armed men with a medical textbook. It turns out that might be enough.
