_Alphas Dawn
The forest was alive with whispers. Pine needles rattled in the wind, and the cold moon hung heavy in the sky, watching silently over the land. In the shadows of the ridge, the pack stirred. At the center of them stood Kaelen, the Alpha. His fur was dark as midnight, his golden eyes burning like twin embers. The younger wolves crouched low when his gaze passed over them, their heads bowed in instinctive submission. But tonight was different. Something pulled at the Alpha’s chest—an unfamiliar tension, like the forest itself was warning him. A lone howl echoed across the valley. Long. Drawn-out. Not one of his own. The pack froze. Pups huddled near their mothers, ears twitching. The Betas exchanged uneasy glances. Kaelen’s lips curled back, revealing sharp white fangs. “Not our blood. Not our call,” he growled, his voice rumbling through the clearing. A young wolf, barely more than a yearling, dared to speak. “But Alpha… it sounded close. Too close.”
