Crown of Frost and Embers

Freya Valthorn seeks to escape the collapsing empire. With no other choice but to sign on to a risky deal with the morose chieftain Erik Ironside, she signs on. Being pushed into an involuntary partnership, she and Erik head to the tempest-torn wilderness of the North. Though they are on the edge of the world, they must still begin to supply themselves and find a way to survive the elements. Their tentative partnership begins to slowly build and have an impact. However, the outside world interests with their disturbed tranquility. Freya and Erik come to the haunting answerless question of whether the way they have forged a new life can withstand the oncoming chaos, or if the past they will always have will shatter the way they have built their future together.
